December is here and it's officially out with leaves and pumpkins and in with the snow and Christmas lights! Sebastian, Camille and I spent one rainy day last week while Sebastian was home from school with a cold decorating Christmas tree ornaments! I decided to save my own sanity and the kids' by only hanging non-breakable things that they could actually touch and play with on the tree. It has worked out great so far as I'm not stressing about them breaking anything and they've been having a great time plucking various ornaments off the tree to get a closer look. It's definitely a win-win situation. This Saturday morning I brought Sebastian to our local train station where Santa arrived on the fire truck! Although is was freezing cold and drizzling, we drank hot apple cider, listened to the Santa band and of course, greeted Santa when he arrived with goodies! Sebastian was all excited to see Santa but then he was afraid of him once he got there. Like mother like son I guess: my Mom tells me I was the same way and I believe her because we have not one photo of me on Santa's lap! In fact, we have no photos of Santa period, not even would any of my siblings sit for a photo! Saturday evening brought our first snow of the season and we did get enough to lay on the ground for some sledding on Sunday morning! This was Camille's first snow experience and she liked it, for about 5 minutes then she got kinda cold and whiny. Sebastian, on the other hand, thought it was the greatest! He even helped David shovel the driveway after we played on the sled for a while. See this week's album for recent photos of the above happenings!
Thank you! I love reading about Sebastian and Camille's growth and seeing your wonderful pictures. I bet you had a very exciting Christmas! Great idea for the tree!
